Definition: Simply put, speed is an attribute that describes how fast an object is moving.
Example: The speedometer in a car measures the speed that the car is moving at any given moment.

A great boon to the practice of yoga is the positive effect that is has on the mind-body, allowing us to better overcome extreme emotion and stress. The breathing techniques used in yogic practice are naturally soothing and calming; the cleansing breath, or kapalbhati in Sanskrit, is used exclusively for this purpose.
Kapalbhati means literally to “polish the skull” in its original Sanskrit, giving a pointed suggestion as to its purpose. Using this breathing technique to cleanse and detox your busy mind, you will find almost instantly that its effects are great and wondrous.
Performing kapalbhati is technically quite easy, though it is important that it is performed correctly in order to obtain the best results. Follow these basic instructions as you prepare to practice:
Take a seat in any position that keeps your spine erect and your body relaxed; I personally find the cross-legged and vajrasana positions have the most beneficial effect. Relax yourself and breathe deeply, closing your eyes and feeling the movement of the breath as you clear your mind. Once you feel fully composed, begin to exercise the diaphragm by exhaling your breath quickly through the nostrils, allowing the in and out of your breathing to remain natural and easy. A general rule of thumb for the beginner is to practice each type of breathing for about seven cycles, allowing the body to gradually warm up to the process. Be aware of the breath deep in your belly and use the upper chest as little as possible.
If you find your breath becoming ragged or broken at any time during the practice, take a break and compose yourself again; the benefits of kapalbhati will not be felt if the body is not relaxed.
What are some of the obvious benefits of kapalbhati?
The powerful breath created in this practice leads to great energy, cleaning and purifying the nasal passage, throat and lungs. The effects on the mind are immediate; relaxation replaces worry, clearness replaces clutter, calmness replaces stress.
Regular and increased practice will help you to maintain these benefits even outside of your practice, allowing you to go through your daily life with the same serenity and clearness of mind that you feel while in seated meditation.

How do I file a homeowners claim?

Ok, here’s the image I found after googling ‘VW logo’. Import it into Photoshop (or just copy from google, CRTL+N to open a new document, and CRTL+V to paste). The first job is to make a selection from the white logo. Read on!
Step 2:
Hit ‘L’ on the keyboard to activate the Lasso tool. Now make a selection around the white logo.
Step 3:
We want the outside white area to be black, so CRTL+SHIFT+I to invert the selection and then SHIFT+F5 to bring up the Fill screen. Choose black form the drop down list:

Testosterone replacement therapy
A more immediate way of increasing testosterone levels is through testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), where testosterone is put into the body by a doctor. Testosterone replacement comes in various forms. Taking testosterone orally is one option, although the problem with taking natural testosterone orally is that it is often broken down by the liver, and so relatively little is released into the body. Synthetic testosterones may be able to pass through the liver without being broken down, but this has been strongly linked to liver disease.
Injections into the muscle tissue are a further option, although the practicalities of regular injections with a one-and-a-half inch needle put many people off. More common is the application of a transdermal gel.
Traditionally, doctors have limited TRT for men with extremely low levels of testosterone. TRT was not usually used to compensate the “normal” decline in testosterone during aging, and even today, some doctors are nervous about the effects of too much testosterone, which can increase the risk of heart disease.
Many men using TRT for andropause symptoms can’t believe the difference it makes – they feel younger, more energetic, happier and enjoy sex more. A large industry has developed that promises eternal youth through testosterone replacement – yet the dangers are real.
TRT is not something to be considered lightly. Medical supervision by trained professionals is a must. An administration of too much testosterone may occur if the right tests are not carried out thoroughly. Anti-aging medicine doctors can measure the levels of free and bound testosterone in your body, and compare it to younger men and other men your age. The doctor can also explain the benefits and dangers of various therapies to help you make your own decision.
TRT can take between one and six weeks to take effect, but the results can be astounding, as patients often receive a re-inspired zest for life that gives them more energy to do what they want to do.

One of the reasons that testosterone decreases with age is an imbalance between estrogen and testosterone levels. Normally, the body converts testosterone into estrogen through a process called aromatization. As the body ages, it generates excess estrogen which can result in male breast development or fat deposits in the belly.

What is Amblyopia?
Amblyopia, commonly known as lazy eye, is the eye condition noted by reduced vision not correctable by glasses or contact lenses and is not due to any eye disease. The brain, for some reason, does not fully acknowledge the images seen by the amblyopic eye. This almost always affects only one eye but may manifest with reduction of vision in both eyes. It is estimated that three percent of children under six have some form of amblyopia. Lazy Eye and Strabismus are not the same condition.
Many people make the mistake of saying that a person who has a crossed or turned eye (strabismus) has a "lazy eye," but lazy eye (amblyopia) and strabismus are not the same condition. Some of the confusion may be due to the fact that strabismus can cause amblyopia. Amblyopia can result from a constant unilateral strabismus (i.e., either the right or left eye turns all of the time). Alternating or intermittent strabismus (an eye turn which occurs only some of the time) rarely causes amblyopia.
While a deviating eye (strabismus) may be easily spotted by the layman, amblyopia without strabismus or associated with a small deviation usually can be not noticed by either you or your pediatrician. Only an eye doctor comfortable in examining young children and infants can detect this type of amblyopia. This is why early infant and pre-school eye examinations are so necessary.
Due to misunderstanding or misuse of the terms for different visual conditions (i.e., crossed eyes vs. lazy eye), many people are inaccurately labelled as having a "lazy eye." If you think you or someone you know has lazy eye, it is recommended that you learn more about Lazy Eye and the different types of Strabismus. In addition, learn about a much more common visual condition which affects binocular (two-eyed) vision and is also not easily discernable to the outside viewer. This condition is also not detected by the standard 20/20 eye test
Causes of Amblyopia
Both eyes must receive clear images during the critical period. Anything that interferes with clear vision in either eye during the critical period (birth to 6 years of age) can result in amblyopia (a reduction in vision not corrected by glasses or elimination of an eye turn). The most common causes of amblyopia are constant strabismus (constant turn of one eye), anisometropia (different vision/prescriptions in each eye), and/or blockage of an eye due to trauma, lid droop, etc. If one eye sees clearly and the other sees a blur, the good eye and brain will inhibit (block, suppress, ignore) the eye with the blur. Thus, amblyopia is a neurologically active process. The inhibition process (suppression) can result in a permanent decrease in the vision in that eye that can not be corrected with glasses, lenses, or lasik surgery.
Diagnosis of Amblyopia
Since amblyopia usually occurs in one eye only, many parents and children may be unaware of the condition. Far too many parents fail to take their infants and toddlers in for an early comprehensive vision examination and many children go undiagnosed until they have their eyes examined at the eye doctor's office at a later age.
The most important diagnostic tools are the special visual acuity tests other than the standard 20/20 letter charts currently used by schools, pediatricians and eye doctors. Examination with cycloplegic drops can be necessary to detect this condition in the young.
Treatment of Amblyopia
Amblyopia can be successfully treated up to the age of 17. See a report on the latest research at National Institutes of Health -- National Eye Institute. Early treatment is usually simple, employing glasses, drops, vision therapy and/or patching. Detection and correction before the age of two offers the best chance for a cure.
According to current research, amblyopia can not be cured -- normal 20/20 stereo vision -- without early detection and treatment. However, treatment for older children and adults is usually successful in improving vision and should be attempted. Treatment of amblyopia after the age of 17 is not dependent upon age but requires more effort including vision therapy. Every amblyopic patient deserves an attempt at treatment.
Strabismus is responsive to treatments at all ages. Therefore, as explained earlier, it is important to make careful distinction between amblyopia and strabismus.
While no recent scientific studies have been done on treatment of amblyopia after the age of 17, the optometrists in our network collectively report decades of clinical success with adult amblyopia. [This editor hopes for an NEI study on adult amblyopia and neuroplasticity].
To quote one of our members, Dr. Leonard J. Press, FAAO, FCOVD: "It's been proven that a motivated adult with strabismus and/or amblyopia who works diligently at vision therapy can obtain meaningful improvement in visual function. As my patients are fond of saying: "I'm not looking for perfection; I'm looking for you to help me make it better". It's important that eye doctors don't make sweeping value judgments for patients. Rather than saying "nothing can be done", the proper advice would be: "You won't have as much improvement as you would have had at a younger age; but I'll refer you to a vision specialist who can help you if you're motivated."
In conclusion, improvements are possible at any age, but early detection and treatment offer the best outcome. If not detected and treated early in life, amblyopia can cause a permanent loss of vision with associated loss of stereopsis (two eyed depth perception). Better vision screenings are needed for young children. The 20/20 eye chart screening is not adequate.

It will be a nerve racking time as we have to decide there and then if these mannerisms and even physical odours are compatible with us. If you can pass that first test, then things get a lot easier. Do however be very careful if you are traveling abroad to meet someone because if things fail at this first hurdle, then you are totally stuck on your own in a foreign country.
Passed first base, what next?
Having gone through this initial nerve racking first meeting, there is often a huge temptation to revert back to an 'online relationship' as it feels so much more comfortable, but I cannot stress enough to resist that temptation. Slip back into the old online chatting routine and the online persona won't die. The transition from online to offline relationship can be extremely difficult but at all costs, you must get to know the real person from a new offline perspective and kill off any false impressions you may have had about them online. Going back to the online chatting routine may make you feel all warm and fuzzy again, but it can be an unrealistic perception of who the person really is.
In Summary
This all may seem a little negative and in some cases may not even apply, but overall, forewarned is forearmed. There are of course many people who have made a success of their relationship by Instant Messaging and some are even married now but it really pays to be aware of how feelings can be distorted by the shield of an anonymous nickname and a computer monitor.

Open Question: How do you tell a 5 yr old her mommy doesn't want her?
My sister married a great guy 9 years ago when they were both fresh out of Law School and after having dated for 3 years. Everyone thought they were a match made in heaven. She was crazy about him and he worshipped her. A few years into their marriage birth control failed them and she fell pregnant. The day she found out was the day she made an appointment at an abortion clinic because her career was just starting to take off and she didn’t want to let anything receive in the way of that. Her husband and both families begged her not to abort promising her she’d feel differently once the baby was born and she continued the pregnancy being incredibly resentful towards everyone. Three weeks after their beautiful baby girl was born she was ready to walk out on them but once again he begged her to stay promising to receive a live a live-in nanny and suggesting individual and couples counseling which she took him up on. She simply found it intolerable to be around her daughter even though the girl adored her and after 4.5 years of therapy called it quits and filed for divorce leaving her husband and daughter devastated. She’s now got a great job and boyfriend, acting like her kid and ex-husband never existed. She’s not suffering from post-partum depression as she went to look a doctor about the possibility before they started therapy and she got a clean bill of health. I spend as much time as I can with my niece but it’s so heartbreaking to have that sweet little angel ask me why her mommy doesn’t adore her anymore and if she did something to make her leave, whenever I arrive look her. I have no idea what to tell her so I usually just change the topic but eventually she’s going to need answers. How do you explain to a 5 yr old that her mom just doesn’t want to be part of her life?

For those that have read my previous post,I am 4 months pregnant entering 5.I had left my husband's home &came back to my country as per his wishes.Its been almost a month & he has shown no interest or concern.I managed to find a job & I am living with a pal now.My concerns are where to from now? A week ago I sent him a sms asking what happens to us& he said his intention is to receive a divorce & receive as far away from me as possible.He asked nothing about the baby or my health. Hillary is full of 'woe begone' stories she has heard on the campaign trail, the latest being the lady who was turned away from the E.R. because she did not have $100. According to Hillary the lady got progressively worse resulting first in the loss of her baby and finally in the lady's death. She elaborated on this story by saying this was told to her by a deputy in a pizza parlor where the lady worked. First, we know the E.R. could not turn her away because she did not have $100. Even if this was the case I'll bet the employees at the pizza place she worked would have raised it for her. Any church she visited would have given her $100. Someone got her pregnant, family, friends, her govt. reps., are every other sources from whom she could receive help. Hillary is quite dramatic and tells these stories with great flair but we are now know she is a great story teller but she doesn't even know how to cease. What do you think? Local banks told to put brakes on mortgages

The city's banks have been told to exercise caution on mortgage lending to help combat speculation and stabilize property prices.
Shanghai's banking regulator said on Sunday all local banks must abide by strict mortgage lending policies and spot checks will be conducted.
The statement is a response to recent media reports that domestic banks were lowering lending standards to second-home buyers to boost mortgages, which bring a large share of bank profits.
Analysts said the government will stick to its tightening policy to cool the overheated property market, although an investment slowdown and housing price dips have been seen in major cities like Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen.
The central bank and the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) raised the requirement for mortgage deposits last year for second-home buyers to at least 40 percent, with a 10 percent premium on the interest rate.
China Construction Bank, one of the nation's Big Four lenders, said recently second-home buyers will get favorable policies and a lower interest rate if family members have a living area of less than 26.6-sq-m in their first home.
Other banks have followed suit. The move is seen as a relaxation of the housing policy that could reactivate the property market at a time when transactions are falling. Authorities investigated but found no policy violations.
"Domestic banks in Shanghai are strictly following the policies in their mortgage lending to second-home buyers," the CBRC's Shanghai office said. "No relaxation of the standards was found."
But the regulator is monitoring the situation, warning banks of potential risks in a liquidity-driven property boom.
It said most banks have adjusted their mortgage lending, distinguishing between genuine homebuyers and speculators.(China Daily)

COFI Sinks to 2-Year Low
In February, the cost of funds index was 3.56 percent, the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco reported. The index was lower than the prior month and the prior year. COFI has fallen each of the past five months and is at its lowest level since January 2006.

In an effort to improve market stability, the Treasury released its Blueprint for a Modernized Financial Regulatory Structure. The National Association of Mortgage Brokers had supported the blueprint as long as all mortgage originations are regulated, even those that subsidiaries of federally chartered banks use. The chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association said in a news release that MBA is in favor of consistent regulation in the industry and shares the Treasury's desire to have oversight in mortgage proceedings.

Fortress Financial Group Inc. is in advanced negotiations to acquire a significant mortgage lending operation, according to an announcement. The purchase "will be immediately coupled" with a mortgage bank acquisition and a licensed lending company acquisition, Fortress said. "These acquisitions will be coupled with a planned large scale acquisition of independent mortgage brokers," the press release stated.
